1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.
2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do , forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

C4나의 형제들아, 개 악한일꾼 할례파를 주의, 영안에서 하나님을 경배하고 그리스도를 기뻐하는 자가 진정한 할례자이다. 바울역시 육신으로는 대단한 사람이지만 그리스도의 지식이 탁월하여 그것들을 그리스도를 위한 손실과 배설물로 여긴다.
C7나 지신의 의가 아닌 하나님의 의 를 가지고 그안에서 발견되고자 함, 그분의 죽으심과 일치되어 부활의 권능 수닌들의 교제를 일고자 함. 어떤 방식으로든지 죽은자의 부활에 도달하려는 것. 하나님의 부르심의 상을 위햐여 푯대를 향해 밀고 가는 것.
C8바울을 따르라 많은이들이 멸망의 길, 수치, 땅의 일을 생각하나 하늘의 생활방식으로 살고 오실 구원자를 고대하라. 그분은 우리의 천한 몸을 변화시키는 분이다

C5그러나 이제는 율법 밖에 있는 하나님의 의 곧 율법과 대언자들이 증언한 의가 드러났느니라.그것은 곧 예수 그리스도의 믿음으로 말미암아 모든 자에게 미치고 믿는 모든 자 위에 임하는 하나님의 의니 거기에는 차별이 없느니라.모든 사람이 죄를 지어 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못하더니 그리스도 예수님 안에 있는 구속(救贖)을 통해 하나님의 은혜로 값없이 의롭게 되었느니라. 그분을 하나님께서 그분의 피를 믿는 믿음을 통한 화해 제물로 제시하셨으니 이것은 하나님께서 참으심을 통해 과거의 죄들을 사면하심으로써 자신의 의를 밝히 드러내려 하심이요,내가 말하거니와 이때에 자신의 의를 밝히 드러내사 자신이 의롭게 되며 또 예수님을 믿는 자를 의롭게 만드는 이가 되려 하심이라.(롬3:21-26)
C7율법에서 난 내 자신의 의가 아니라 그리스도의 믿음을 통한 의 곧 믿음으로 말미암아 하나님에게서 난 의를 소유한 채 그분 안에서 발견되려 함이라.(빌3:9)
